We are a society that was founded in 1997 with the sole aim of helping the children of the small eastern Thai village of Mara by selling handcrafted screens and decorative room dividers - elegant, restrained and contemporary.

We came to know the village through the mediation of our friend Marc Thesmar, who now lives there and officiates as our representative.

Financial assistance is required for good education, whereby a monthly contribution of €10 is sufficient for the provision of writing materials, books and the obligatory school uniform. We consider this at the moment to be the most sensible investment in the future.

The villagers are poor as a consequence of bad harvests and an insufficient infrastructure under unfavorable traffic conditions. Thus we will also have to support the children's families so that the young can be provided with food and clothing.

€50 a month are enough to supply basic requirements of a family.

Several friends have understood that behind the smiles and the kindness of these farmers there is often a distress difficult to bear.
